Roma High All-State Football Player Signs to Play College Ball
Congratulations to Roma High School Mighty Gladiator All-State Football Player Hiram Flores on officially signing with Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma to play college football. Surrounded by his parents, family members, friends, and school and district administrators, the Class of 2020 Senior signed his letter of intent. He says he plans to study either business administration or international business at SNU.
“When I met the people at SNU, I felt like this was going to be my second home and my second family; I felt that when I went to visit the school and met the team and coaches,” said Flores of his decision to join the Mighty Crimson Storm Football Program. “I’m looking forward to the new opportunities going away to college will provide. I think living away from my family will really help me mature and be open to new possibilities.”
Flores’ message to future generations of Gladiator Football players and athletes is to set your goals and never give up.
“Not everyone gets an opportunity like this – it is a real blessing. It is a real dream come true since I was a little kid,” he said. “I want other students to know to never stop grinding and always keep dreaming. Everything is possible if you want it enough. I kept my mind straight and focused and you can do it too.”
Flores has been a dedicated student athlete for Roma High, and his coaches say he will be a role model for the future.
“Of course we are very proud of Hiram and happy to see him earn this opportunity,” said Roma High’s Head Football Coach Frank Villeneuva. “He has worked hard on the field and in the classroom. He has been a real team leader and a source of positivity for our team. We will miss him as he moves on, but we know he will serve as a role model for all our Gladiators rising up through the ranks as student athletes. I also want to thank and congratulate his parents and family. They have been dedicated to taking him to camps and providing other outside opportunities that have helped him grow as a player and young man. Parental support is key to the success of students like Hiram. Thank you to them, and good luck to the entire family as Hiram begins this new journey. The Gladiator Nation will be cheering you on!”
