Two Roma ISD Schools Named Texas Honor Roll STEM Schools
Roma ISD is proud to announce that R. T. Barrera Elementary School and F. J. Scott Elementary School were not only named 2018-2019 Texas Honor Roll Star Schools, but also named 2018-2019 Texas Honor Roll STEM Schools. Both schools earned this honor for the high academic performance of their students in the areas of math and science.
The Honor Roll is developed by Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a nonprofit organization that applies data science to help improve student outcomes and career readiness. ERP maintains the nation’s largest database on student achievement and utilizes this data to identify higher-performing schools and districts.
Schools that receive the Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. For high schools, the Honor Roll recognition also includes measures of college readiness.
“We are extremely proud of these schools for their dedication to academic excellence and rigor,” said Roma ISD Superintendent Carlos Guzman. “They are raising the bar for our students and setting high goals, which has produced great rewards. Terrific job Eagles and Knights!”
