Roma ISD Announces District Selection As H-E-B Excellence In Education 2019 Small District Award Finalist
The H-E-B program, which is now in its 18th year, has awarded more than $8.5 million in funding to benefit outstanding Texas public schools. Roma ISD was selected as a finalist alongside Canutillo ISD and Stephenville ISD. To determine the overall statewide winner, a panel of judges will visit each district, touring campuses and talking with administration, staff, parents and community members. Winners will be announced at the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards ceremony in May 2019. The winning small district will receive $50,000.
“We sincerely thank H-E-B for providing this opportunity for Roma ISD to shine the spotlight on the amazing work taking place in The Gladiator Nation,” said Roma ISD Superintendent Carlos Guzman. “We are honored to be selected as a finalist for the award and look forward to showcasing excellence in education through the hard work of our students and staff. I want to thank everyone that worked hard to help us prepare and submit the nomination, which highlighted all our amazing efforts to provide the very best education possible to the youth of our community. Congratulations to our entire Gladiation Nation Family. As 2019 kicks off, we have so much to celebrate!”
