Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Maria Elia Sanchez

I am blessed to form part of Roma ISD, the same school district that welcomed me with open arms as a child.  Rafaela T. Barrera Elementary opened their doors for me 13 years ago, and welcomed me into their awesome team of educators.  I have taught 2nd grade, kindergarten and 5th grade.  I graduated from the University of Texas Pan-American with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Bilingual Education.  I then furthered my education and obtained a Master's Degree in School Guidance and Counseling.
