Due to the continued COVID-19 Pandemic, Roma ISD is instituting a system to notify all staff and students and their families at a campus or building in the event that a lab-confirmed COVID-19 case is identified among students or staff who participate in any on-campus activities. Roma ISD is committed to transparency as we communicate during the COVID-19 pandemic, and will continue to provide information to our community to ensure families and staff can make educated decisions about their activities, taking into consideration their health and safety needs.

As of October 19, 2020, Roma ISD employs a two-tiered notification process:

    • Tier 1 - DISTRICT NOTICE(s) – Upon confirmation of a lab-confirmed COVID-19 case, communication will be sent out to all staff and families of students who are assigned to a campus or facility from the district (where the individual may have reported).
    • Tier 2 - CAMPUS / CLASS NOTICE(s) – Upon confirmation of a lab-confirmed COVID-19 case, the district will investigate the path of the COVID-positive student or staff member to identify staff and students who may have come in contact with the person during an infectious time. The campus principal or department manager will then directly contact all staff and students determined to have had close contact with the lab-confirmed case. Those receiving this notification will be required to monitor themselves and they will need to make arrangements with their campus leader to self-quarantine.

In addition to the notification process, Roma ISD will continue to provide updates on cases at each facility on the chart below. This does not include cases among the population of teachers and students working exclusively at home during the pandemic. The information in the chart below contains historical data based on reports received by the district since Nov. 2, 2020Roma ISD relies on our staff, students, parents, families, and community members to proactively report information for the health and safety of all employees and students. If you have information regarding a lab-confirmed COVID-19, please immediately contact your campus principal or manager.
