I&G celebrates its retiree, Counselor Selma G. Cantu.
Principal Ramirez along with her I&G staff attended a recognition ceremony at Central Office where Superintendent Carlos Guzman presented Selma with a plaque for her 33 years of service in education, 32 of those years were with Roma ISD where she served as a teacher and counselor.
Also joining Selma was her husband Tavo, daughter Alyssa, son-in-law Josue, grandsons Giovanny and GianCarlo & friend Anita Cuevas. Following the recognition ceremony, Selma and her family were treated to a retirement luncheon at the I&G multipurpose room.

Apply for New P-EBT Benefit for Roma ISD Families Today!
Enrolled students (up to 21 years of age) in families that temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals for the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT). P-EBT benefits can be used to buy food from any retailer that accepts the Lone Star Card.
To apply, go to yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT (application link is case-sensitive). The application opens June 2. Deadline to apply is Aug. 13, 2021.

The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application.

Make sure you select the option that Roma ISD participates with USDA in Community Eligibility Provision. This program allows all of our students to eat for free.
